Should be relatively easy to get working, log::KERNEL_LOGGER needs to be hooked in a #[task] and then just read from it. It would be nice to be able to capture early messages in log::EARLY_BUFFER, and then copy them over once allocations are available.

Currently, every architecture specific logic is contained inside crate::arch as standalone functions + a set of type asserts which is fine, but can get annoying when adding a port to a new architecture or when the API of arch functions changes. The idea is to move to something like this: // kernel/src/arch/mod.rs #[cfg(target_arch = "x86_64")] mod x86_64; #[cfg(target_arch = "x86_64")] pub use x86_64::X86_64 as Arch; pub mod virt; // kernel/src/arch/virt.rs use crate::{ arch::Arch, memory::{ PhysAddr, UserAccessRegion, VirtAddr, virt::{PteFlags, VmCacheType, mmu::PageTable}, }, sched::Scheduler, }; pub trait ArchVirt { type Pte: PteOps; fn page_bits() -> usize; fn level_bits() -> usize; fn num_levels() -> usize; fn max_leaf_level() -> usize; fn hhdm_base() -> VirtAddr; fn is_user_addr(addr: VirtAddr) -> bool; fn flush_tlb(addr: VirtAddr); fn flush_tlb_all(); unsafe fn set_page_table(pt: &PageTable); unsaf

Rust provides the unstable allocator_api, which we already enable. Zinnia can automatically convert from an AllocError -> Errno::ENOMEM. It might be worth it to evaluate what needs to change, e.g. if we can use structs with safe allocations from ::alloc like Arc::try_new.
