Situation The chat composer in the dashboard lets the guardian pick which model answers a conversation. The picker is a flat dropdown menu. It lists the automatic choice first and then every selectable model, one row per model, with no grouping and no search. Pain The menu holds ten rows today: the automatic choice, six Claude entries spanning three generations, and three GPT variants. Every model release adds rows, and no row leaves while its model stays selectable, so the list only grows. Almost every open of the menu ends on the same two or three rows, yet each open means reading the whole list to find them. This is first-hand guardian pain from day-to-day model switching in the dashboard (filed 2026-09-01), and the next release wave makes the scan longer. Possible directions Short list plus ellipsis, with type-to-filter. Show the handful of commonly used models, fold the rest behind an ellipsis row, and filter the rows as the guardian types — the menu becomes a combo box. Tensio
