Currently, we use 1.64.8 in kpt, 2.7.2 in the functions sdk and 2.8.0 in the functions catalog. We should use a single unified version across all the repos containing go code, and it should definitely be v2+ since all repos are using go 24+.

Recently, we have rewritten the documentation for Porch including the code that was cloned from kpt. When that code is ported back to kpt we should also move the new kpt-related documentation from Porch to kpt.
