Problem statement When we have a CuDepthMap or even a simple image, we might need down the pipeline a way to know the original physical characteristics of the sensor like the calibration and field of view. Today we have a way to override parameters on the original source for each specific instances of a robot but we have no way to share that info with a task downstream. Proposed solution Maybe something that looks like the resources instead of repeating it on the copperlist. Problem statement Today we have several levels of APIs for the runtime that allows a full control from the user of the framework over the lifecycle of it. The issue is that the user can put the stack in a bad state without noticing: for example calling start_all_tasks twice or mixing it with application.run Proposed solution Add a small enum based state machine to track the validity of those lifecycle changes and emit an error accordingly. Alternatives considered (optional) Make that debug only but this should be so small it might not worth it Impact / scope (optional) Affected crates, platforms, or features: Additional context (optional)

It has been a while since we added new standard payloads and with the flight controller + external projects I think we can: Catalog "private" messages Select the ones that make sense to standardize (like pointclouds for lidars and co.) Discuss the formats with the community quickly to see if we don't miss something Move the task(s) to the new format and move the message to the payload subtree in the repo
