Leaving focus still needs ctrl+\ or ← at the prompt head. What you have in mind A double click on a session row focuses it. A double click on a group folds or unfolds it. A single click still only selects. While focused, a click on the list (or anywhere off the pane) returns to the list, and that same click can select a row.
