Description & Motivation First off, thank you for developing and maintaining PicView! It is an exceptionally responsive and feature-rich image viewer. While testing PicView across various image formats and deployment environments, we identified two areas where PicView can be enhanced, along with working solutions: 8-bit Grayscale (Gray8) PNG decoding failures (commonly produced by industrial/scientific monochrome cameras and computer vision tools like OpenCV). Issue 1: 8-bit Grayscale (Gray8) PNGs fail to render 1. Symptom: Certain 8-bit monochrome PNG files (Color Type 0 PNG_COLOR_TYPE_GRAY with 8-bit depth, typical for industrial vision cameras, matrix sensor captures, or OpenCV cv2.imwrite grayscale exports) fail to render in PicView, resulting in an empty viewport even though the image is completely valid and opens fine in Windows Photos / Paint. 2. Root Cause: In some configurations, the primary decoding pipeline (SkiaSharp / Magick.NET) fails to decode these specific grayscale

Describe the bug After changing the language, some menu item names will not update; you must restart the software for the changes to take effect. Screenshots Take switching from Chinese to English as an example. Meanwhile, the options in the language drop-down menu remain in Chinese.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. PicView's context menu cannot be customized with user-defined actions, making it difficult to quickly open the current image with other programs or tools. Describe the solution you'd like Add support for user-defined context menu actions, with configurable commands and arguments. Arguments could include variables such as the current image file path, allowing users to launch external programs with the selected image. Describe alternatives you've considered Using external scripts or manually opening images in other applications, but this is less convenient than having the actions directly in PicView. Additional context Allow users to define custom context menu actions that execute external programs or scripts. Each action could specify the executable or command to run, along with configurable arguments and placeholders such as the current image's full file path. For example: Name: Make image smaller Command: magick.exe Argume

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Currently, the image view is clamped to the viewport, which prevents freely moving the image around when zoomed in or positioned near the edges. This can make it difficult to inspect specific areas of an image or maintain a preferred position. Describe the solution you'd like Allow the image view to be moved freely in any direction without being clamped to the viewport boundaries. Panning should allow the image to be positioned partially, or even completely outside the visible viewport, similar to how an image editor (or canvas behaves). Describe alternatives you've considered A configurable option to toggle viewport clamping could also work, allowing users who prefer the current behavior to keep it while giving others unrestricted panning. Additional context This would be especially useful when zoomed in, where unrestricted panning makes it easier to inspect image edges and position the image exactly where desired.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When comparing two photos (such as handheld before/after shots, edited photos, or photo series), side-by-side viewing alone is often not enough to spot subtle differences. Furthermore, if the photos were taken from slightly different distances or angles, zooming and panning side-by-side images independently makes it very frustrating and time-consuming to align the exact subject manually. Describe the solution you'd like I'd like to suggest expanding the image comparison functionality with: Additional Comparison Display Modes: Split Slider (Curtain View): Overlay two images with an interactive vertical slider to wipe back and forth between "Before" and "After". Fade / Overlay: Stack two images with an opacity slider to smoothly blend between them. Difference Mode: Render the pixel difference (e.g. via SKBlendMode.Difference) to instantly highlight modified areas or compression artifacts. 2-Point Anchor Auto-Alignment:
