Describe the feature Opt-in "New window" action that opens a second lightweight Teams window on the same account/session, so a call can stay on one monitor while chatting in another. Like a second browser tab, without moving the running call. Motivation During a meeting with screen sharing, the shared content fills the main window and there is no way to follow or answer chats from other people without hiding the call. The Windows client solves this natively (pop-out windows); on Linux the wrapper has a single window. Both earlier requests were closed as not planned, but the blockers cited do not apply to this proposal: #2499 (separate call window): the call lives in the renderer (WebRTC tracks, signalling, UI) and cannot be moved to another BrowserWindow without tearing it down. Agreed, this proposal does not move the call. The call stays in the main window; the secondary window is an independent Teams instance for chat. #1984 (multiple windows for one account): the concern was that M

Describe the feature Similar to other platforms where Teams is supported officially, a little PiP window to accept/decline incoming calls, and/or hang up/mute controls when a call is active. Motivation When there's an incoming call, many times Teams refuses to launch for a few seconds, especially when clicking the notification, which many times is enough for the caller to end the call. Also, when you're deep in your work windows, you start searching for the Teams window to hang up the call or mute/unumute, which is stress inducing and time consuming! Describe the feature Add an option to set separate custom light and dark tray icons Motivation Currently, users can set one global custom tray icon. However, a custom icon might only work in light or dark desktop mode, but not the other. For example, I'm using a custom monochrome (black) icon, which is invisible when I'm using dark mode. Therefore, it would be useful if we could set two custom tray icons, one for light mode and one for dark mode. Alternatives No response Additional context No response

Describe the feature Any linux appimage bundles everything and doesn't rely on host glibc, which allows it work on very old distros and musl based distros like alpine without requiring extra setups. Motivation It would allow the appimage to run without having to install fuse and can work on minimal distro out of the box. Problem There is no way to reach config.json from inside the app. git grep over app/menus/ finds no shell.openPath or showItemInFolder anywhere, so a user who wants to change any of the 68 restart-only options has to know the file exists, know its name, and know where their packaging format puts it. That last part is the real friction, because the location is different for every format: Install Config directory deb / rpm / tar.gz / AppImage ~/.config/teams-for-linux snap ~/snap/teams-for-linux/current/.config/teams-for-linux/ flatpak (--user) ~/.var/app/com.github.IsmaelMartinez.teams_for_linux/config/teams-for-linux from source ~/.config/Electron/ The Flatpak and Snap paths in particular are not somewhere anyone guesses. Proposal Two entries under the existing Settings submenu in app/menus/appMenu.js (getSettingsMenu), next to Save and Restore: Open config file — shell.openPath(getConfigFilePath(configPath)) Open config folder — shell.openPath(configPath) The dir
